8/8 The Lion's Gate

The 8/8 Lion’s Gate is a term rooted both in ancient astronomical observation and in more modern esoteric/energetic traditions.
Sirius is the brightest star in the sky, located in the constellation Canis Major. The ancient Egyptians regarded it as the “Spiritual Sun” and observed its heliacal rising — appearing just before dawn — a phenomenon that coincided with the flooding of the Nile and was considered a symbol of rebirth.
In our time, in early August, the Sun is in Leo and the position of Sirius becomes almost aligned with the Sun, enhancing the “royal” and creative archetype.
Leo is ruled by the Sun and is connected with the heart, self-expression, joy, and sovereignty in our own domain.

The Numerological Dimension
The date 8/8 carries the double vibration of the number 8:
Power and manifestation in the material world.
The shape of the 8 (∞) → a symbol of infinity, balance between the spiritual and the earthly.
In numerology, 8 is the number of the “Sovereign Creator” — the one who learns to handle energy and matter with wisdom.

Many esoteric schools and New Age communities see the period from July 26 to August 12 as a time of “energy transmission.” It is said that the Earth receives waves of light from Sirius, encoding new information into the collective unconscious.
The energy is believed to help us align with the “higher plan” of our soul, especially when we set a clear intention and keep an open heart.
It is an ideal day to “seal” intentions, release old patterns, and make space for the next version of ourselves.

Practices aligned with the Lion’s Gate
Ritual meditation focused on the heart center.
Use of gold, orange, or solar symbols.
Writing intentions in the present tense (e.g., “I am…”, “I feel…”).
Connecting with the Sun at sunrise or sunset.
Working with crystals such as sunstone or citrine.

Lion’s Gate 8/8 Ritual
Purpose:
To harmonize with the energy of the heart, release what burdens us, and activate our creative power for the next stage of our lives.
Space Preparation
Cleanse your space (physically and energetically).
Light a gold, orange, or white candle.
If you have one, place a crystal nearby (e.g., citrine, sunstone, or quartz).
Play soft music or sounds that bring you joy.
Connection with the Sun
Stand by a window, outside on a balcony, or in an open space.
Close your eyes and imagine a golden ray descending from the Sun and Sirius, entering through the crown of your head.
Feel this energy flowing into your heart, “illuminating” it from within.
Release
Take a piece of paper and write down 3 things you wish to release (fears, old patterns, burdens).
Read them aloud and say:
“I thank you for what you have taught me. I now release you.”
Burn the paper carefully or tear it up and discard it.
Activation of Intention
On a new sheet, write 3 statements of intention in the present tense (e.g., “I live with joy and creativity,” “My heart is open to love”).
Place it under the candle or in a sacred space.
Close your eyes and visualize these intentions taking shape inside a golden sphere of light around you.
Sealing
Say aloud:
“My heart is a gate. My world reflects my light. So it is, so it becomes.”
Extinguish the candle when the meditation is complete, or allow it to burn out safely.
⭐ For those who wish to go deeper: Perform the ritual at sunrise or sunset — the energy of the light at these times is particularly strong and aligned with the symbolism of Leo.
